NATIONALS WA Federal Member for O’Connor Tony Crook MP will be travelling down south from January 23-27 to catch up with local residents before Parliament resumes in February.

Mr Crook will be meeting with community leaders in Katanning, Manjimup and Bridgetown, and holding Mobile Electorate Offices in each location.

“The Mobile Electorate Office is an open forum for any resident to come along and have a chat with me about issues that are impacting you and your community,” Mr Crook said.

“Mobile Electorate Offices give me a great chance for me to learn more about the grass-roots issues in your town, and they give local communities a chance to have their concerns heard at a Federal level.”

Mr Crook said his itinerary was “jam-packed” for the week, and would also include a side-trip to Kojonup and Boyup Brook to meet with constituents, before heading to Bridgetown in time for the Australia Day Breakfast and Citizenship Ceremony on Thursday.

Mr Crook said he always enjoyed heading into the South West and the Great Southern.

“This is a truly beautiful part of the world, home to some driven and energetic communities, with some great projects.”

Mr Crook said he was particularly interested in visiting the new Katanning saleyards to see the construction progress.

“The construction of the new Katanning Saleyards is clearly important to the Katanning community and to the many producers in the Great Southern and the South West, and I am pleased to see the Federal Government committing funding to make this project a reality.”

The Katanning Saleyards redevelopment is a $24.4 million project jointly funded by the Federal and State Governments through the Regional Development Australia Fund ($7.4 million) and Royalties for Regions ($17 million).
